How we verify product prices
What our team checks before a store price appears, what the verification time means, and why checkout is still the final authority.
Prices are entered manually
For the current version of PriceDecode, an administrator opens the online store product page, checks the product and variant, records the displayed selling price and availability, and saves the verification time. No automated scraper or price feed publishes changes.
What we check
| Check | What it means |
|---|---|
| Product identity | The store page represents the same canonical product shown on PriceDecode. |
| Exact variant | Capacity, RAM or another supported configuration matches the selected PriceDecode variant. Colour is not separated at this stage. |
| Store domain | The saved destination belongs to the store attached to the price. |
| Displayed price | The current selling price is recorded separately from the store's stated MRP. |
| Availability | The item is marked in stock, out of stock, pre-order or unknown based on the store page. |
Verification is not a guarantee
Store prices can change immediately after we check them. Stock, delivery charges, location restrictions, account-specific pricing, card offers and the final checkout amount can also differ. The store page and checkout are authoritative. The timestamp tells you when our team last checked, not how long the store promises to hold that price.
Report a difference
If a displayed price or variant is wrong, send the product and store name through the contact form or email support@pricedecode.in. We will check the store page and correct the listing.
Cashback verification is separate
A product price does not guarantee cashback. Eligible cashback continues to depend on the store's active commission, tracking, exclusions, order confirmation and the cashback terms and timelines.
